Krazy Keiki's

Examining the forecast the last couple days and spotting the NW swell approaching, Ale and Keiao set off for the North Shore mid morning hoping for the best. Upon arriving at Keiki's Beach, it seemed like the swell had not hit yet with the beach still having slope and the ground not shaking. . . I spoke too soon. 1o min later a set resembling Aliso on a good day rolled in, about 4-5 ft nice shape, barreling onto the dry sand. Another came, bigger this time, and a bigger one. Oh boy, lets go get David Sterman before it gets too big. Except as the tide got higher they got bigger and closer to shore, making me nervous to venture out to attempt and wrap. The Aliso characteristics became more of what you would expect in Cabo. I tried one bomb, wrapping mid way only to get thrown on the dry sand making my bones ache. I got ROLLED! It was getting too hectic. We caught it too late in the swell, too high tide & too gnarly. The bombs became the sets and decided to venture to Waimea. PHEW, smaller wraps. No pictures but fun chest high ones with the Sunday crowd. . . . .

Humbling Newport Beach

Last Session for the Lopez Brothers in California this trip and it was by far the biggest and gnarliest wedge the boys have seen. Nick and Ale were both charging and got some of the best and scariest waves of their lives. The Wedge is known to be one of the heaviest spots in the US and on days like these it is hard to say otherwise. Can't wait for summer. . . . .

Oktoberfest 11

The week before the Oktoberfest in Newport, the boys have been hittin' it hard and scoring some very fun fs liners in caribbean like weather in Newport. Sunny skies, fast water, sheet glass and plenty of beautiful blue waves keep the boys on point and looking forward to the weekend to come. Nicolas took 6th place and ale just had fun going against his idols, Brandon Sears and Teddy Vilasis. "It always awesome seeing all the pros you looked up to as a child shred to peices waves right in front of you and making it look effortless," -Alejandro. The Lopez Brothers are pretty stoked on life right now counting their many blessings one by one and eager to see new south pulses aproaching with sand at the wedge as prime as it gets. STAY TUNED. . . . . . .
